How Gal Got Ripped To Play Wonder Woman!

If you know me, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of comic book movies but I’m an even bigger fan of kick ass women action films! Top of my movie list include Colombiana, played by Zoe Saldana and Salt, played by Angelina Jolie. Both brilliant films in my opinion which successfully show women to be powerful, smart, beautiful but most importantly embody great strength and agility in their own right. Women that are able to flip the script and use their sexuality to their advantage without belittling themselves. – it’s so liberating!

Wonder Woman, aka demigoddess Diana, Princess of Themyscira, Daughter of Hippolyta is the poster woman for kick ass babes. Just last week the official DC film directed also by a female (woop) Patty Jenkins was released in UK.

The 2017 Wonder Woman is played by the beautiful Gal Gadot, who actually made her debut during the 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film. Gal possesses a regal like beauty but her similarities to the comic book character Diana don’t stop there. She also possesses immense inner and physical strength as she comes from an Israeli Military background!

Thou Gal makes playing a super sexy superhero look effortlessly easy. Months of vigorous training and dietary discipline went into getting her ready for the role. From what I’ve read, she manged to get her self into peak physical condition by undergoing a strict six month regime (two of the months she was actually pregnant at the time whilst filming) – insane!

Her daily regime consisted of weightlifting training and two hours of horseback riding. Exercises included- Pull-ups, squats, and ball throws with cardio intervals using the bike and rowing machines—two minutes full-force, then two minutes of active rest.

Gal also underwent intense combat workouts and choreography including kickboxing, martial arts, kung fu, sword fighting, Jiu-Jitsu. I also read however that she was more inclined to strength training to build up her killer abs and make her look more muscular for the role. Aside from that, she is a big fan of TRX and Pilates.

Before starting of training Gal was unable to execute a single pull-up but within a month of training she can now dead-lift her body weight which clearly shows her dedication and hard work for portraying the role of Wonder Women.

All her hard work has certainly paid off as Wonder Woman , the film has been doing exceptionally well — largely due to Gadot’s brilliant performance. The movie brought in $100.5 million in the U.S. in the movie’s first opening weekend, the biggest debut for a film directed by a woman! I have’t seen the movie myself just yet, however I’ve heard great reviews. I’ll be watching the movie this weekend with the hope that it will inspire me to kick start my fitness regime which was put on hold whilst being away on holiday *blush*
